Tesla Powerwall Retrofit

Our client wanted to take advantage of the Xcel Energy battery connect rebate program. https://co.my.xcelenergy.com/s/renewable/battery-connect When these program rebates are stacked with the federal tax incentive, state tax incentives and the Tesla $500 per powerwall rebate it brought this battery system to a price point we had never seen in Colorado!

This system was able to utilize Tesla's backup switch device. This is a type of meter collar that is able to sense when grid power is no longer there, send a signal to the Gateway and open a contactor in the gateway, thus forming a microgrid. What does that mean in common speak you ask? That means we were able to back up every load in this clients home, without having to selece "critical loads" or "backed up loads" and reloacte them to a sub-panel. Our client is happy that they can exercise load management at their discretion during outages.
